Get your own Mike
A personal AI assistant that lives on your Mac. You talk to it in Slack, from your phone or any computer.
What you need
- A Mac on macOS 13 (Ventura) or newer. Check: Apple menu > About This Mac. Intel or Apple chip both work. Mike doesn't run on Windows.
- About 15 GB free on the Mac.
- A paid Claude plan: Pro ($20/month) or Max. Mike runs on it. Sign up at claude.ai.
- A free Slack workspace. Make one at slack.com/get-started. A personal one, just for you, is best.
- Your Mac password (you type it once).
- Optional: a ChatGPT Plus account, for three extra helper agents.
The install takes 20 to 60 minutes. Keep the Mac plugged in and awake.

- Your Wi-Fi router is blocking a download. Connect the Mac to your phone's hotspot and paste the same line again.

- One token was copied wrong. The first starts with
xoxb-, the second withxapp-. Copy each again and paste. - It stopped with a red STOP message
- Do what the message says, then paste the same line again. A full log is saved at
~/Mike/install.log. - "Mike is already installed"
